    Bill Summary

This bill specifies that it is the intent of the general assembly that it is not a TOSHA violation for a person to allow handgun carry permit holders to carry handguns on such person's premises.

ON FEBRUARY 28, 2011, THE SENATE ADOPTED AMENDMENT #1 AND PASSED SENATE BILL 519, AS AMENDED.

AMENDMENT #1 specifies that as a matter of law, rather than as a matter of legislative intent, an employer permitting a person with a handgun carry permit to carry a handgun on the employer's property by failing to post a prohibition against such activity on the premises of the owner's business does not constitute an occupational safety and health hazard to the employees.
