    ON MARCH 23, 2015, THE HOUSE ADOPTED AMENDMENT #1 AND PASSED HOUSE BILL 1351, AS AMENDED.

    AMENDMENT #1 rewrites this bill and authorizes county legislative bodies to appropriate money for affordable or workforce housing.

    ON APRIL 16, 2015, THE SENATE SUBSTITUTED HOUSE BILL 1351 FOR SENATE BILL 1392, ADOPTED AMENDMENT #1, AND PASSED HOUSE BILL 1351, AS AMENDED.

    AMENDMENT #1 clarifies that a county legislative body may appropriate funds for affordable housing or workforce housing, and adds that:

    (1) "Affordable housing" means housing that, on an annual basis, costs 30 percent or less than the estimated median household income for households earning 60 percent or less than the median household income for the applicable county based on the number of persons in the household, as established by the "Median Household Income in the Past 12 Months by Household Size" (B19019) from the most recently available United States Census Bureau American Community Survey; and
    (2) "Workforce housing" means housing that, on an annual basis, costs 30 percent or less than the estimated median household income for households earning more than 60 percent and not to exceed 120 percent of the median household income for the applicable county based on the number of persons in the household, as established by the "Median Household Income in the Past 12 Months by Household Size" (B19019) from the most recently available United States Census Bureau American Community Survey.
